As a company we understand, and take very seriously, our responsibilities to you, your family and the environment we all share. Our cutting mats form the foundation of your creativity and we love knowing that we’re able to be a part of your creative process. That’s why we are 100% committed to providing the safest, most environmentally friendly cutting mats on the planet. Much like you, we’re creators and we have loved ones we care for dearly.

In creating ecopeco® cutting mats, we wanted to craft a mat that was spectacular to use and free from any toxins or harmful substances.

All ecopeco® Cutting Mats are Made from Polypropylene (PP)

  • PP is 100% recyclable and does not contain bisphenol A (BPA
  • PP is non-toxic
  • Superior resistance to bacteria and chemical damage (it is commonly used in the medical industry for items like disposable syringes, specimen bottles and petri dishes)
  • PP is odorless and does not irritate the skin
  • PP exhibits a high resistance to cracking, acids, organic solvents and electrolytes

How Does This Make ecopeco® Self Healing Cutting Mats Different?

Most self healing cutting mats are made up of a hard plastic core, while the top and bottom surface layers are made from PVC, also referred to as vinyl. While PVC is a robust material it is unfortunately, far from harmless. The raw materials used in the production of PVC are known to be carcinogenic. PVC also contains phthalates which are industrial chemicals used to soften PVC. Phthalates can cause damage to the liver, kidneys, lungs and reproductive system.

An Obvious Choice

We’re creative souls with an acute sense of the impact our actions have on the earth and those who share the earth with us. Few decisions were easier than the one we made to never use PVC in our cutting mats.

At ecopeco® our first instinct is, and always will be, to take conscious, deliberate steps to protect you and your planet; this is our first, non-negotiable priority. Every single cutting mat bearing the ecopeco® logo is testament to our commitment to this priority.
